It's been two years since we lost our baby boy, Carlos. Two years!!! It feels like ages ago, at the same time, it feels like it was just yesterday. This precious boy will always be with us in spirit. I have said it many times before, but this boy was my "soul mate". I miss him every single day.

R.I.P. CARLOS

Love you, Carlos!

In Loving Memory

365 days have passed, since the worst day of my life. It was September the 20th 2007 (the day after my 30th birthday) that I lost my baby, my son, my best friend, my guardian - my beloved Carlos. THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE! And not a day has passed without thinking about him or actually talking about him. Mr. L and I talk about Carlos everyday like he was still very much with us... well, actually he is... and he always will be.

If a dog (or any animal for that matter) can be a human being’s soul mate, Carlos was mine. If you didn’t know him, no words can describe him well enough... He had a halo over his head... he was an angel with his big heart and loving manners.

When I think of Carlos now-a-days, it usually puts a big smile on my face as I remember him with great affection, I remember his wonderful personality, and of course I remember and cheerish all the good memories we have together... but there are still days when I just want to scream, pull my hair and just cry my eyes out when thinking about not having him with me anymore. It’s unbelievable that he is no longer with us... :(

If you ever met my wonderful baby, please take a moment to remember this amazing dog today, it truly would mean a great deal to me. There will never ever be anyone like him again.

I will miss you every single day for the rest of my life – I love you with all my heart, Carlos...you will always be my Big Boy!

I love music and I thought these songs say it all...

LeAnn Rimes - "Amazing Grace"

Eric Clapton - "Tears in Heaven"

P. Diddy & Faith Evans - "I'll be missing you"

Danish Dudes

I love this song!!! The band is called Outlandish and the name of the song is Aicha. I just learned it's 3 Danish dudes... well, at least 2 of them are Danish (with Moroccan and Pakistani descents which they pay tribute to in their songs). The 3rd guy comes from Honduras but they are all living in Denmark. Enjoy! :)

Relax - take it easy

This song will forever be associated with Denmark from now on (A&H and Mr L know why :)). The chorus is so good...one just wants to shake the booty when hearing it, especially when the sound is AWESOME...

I'm a sucker for saxophones

This is an "old" song I used to listen to a lot... you can hear the sax the whole time - ah, I love it!

It's Damian Marley (one of B. Marley's sons) featuring Bobby Brown. The name of the song is Beautiful.

Hey Anna -remember Tina Turner's "sax man"??? Hihihi...

Big Girls Do Cry

I don’t write about my baby Carlos on the blog very often. But that’s because it’s still such a sensitive topic. It is quite amazing how you can survive losing someone that means so much to you. When it happens it is such a life altering experience that hurts so bad that you can’t help but wonder... Is this going to kill me?

No words can describe how much Carlos meant to me... He was my dog, my baby, my guardian, my best friend... he was my EVERYTHING! Carlos was the heart in our family! Not a day goes by without me thinking about him, and missing him like crazy.

When we came back home from the vet, having been given the devastating diagnosis, Carlos and I laid down on the bed just looking at each other... I had the TV on in the background and my favourite song at the time was playing .. Big Girls Don’t Cry with Fergie.

Every time I hear this song now, I think of Carlos..... it has become “our song”. Here it is...

We miss you losis ... love you - always!

What to do without music?

I love going to musicals and concerts...some of my most fabulous nights have been spent at some concert or musical.

One fabulous moment was when Anna and I went to a Tina Turner concert in LA at the Greek Theatre. The year was 1997 :) It was so damn AWESOME!

And while I lived in London I stayed quite busy going to musicals and concerts – for instance I saw...

* The musical FAME with my friend Tasha... It was Superb!

* The musical DANCING IN THE STREETS with my good friend Gaby... AMAZING!

* I was so darn lucky I managed to win 2 tickets to the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park ..My cousin Karro was coming for a visit so she and I went. It was great! And the performance that probably excited and shocked me the most was Robbie Williams. I have never really been a big fan of him, but he was AWESOME live. He had such charisma... Karro and I were both totally sold!. Hihihi...

And, when in NYC I love going to Café Wha in the Village. Amazing singers and performers... I could sit there for hours listening to them.

What the heck would we do without music????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check out Robbie at Live 8... Karro and I are in the audience somewhere mesmerized by him... LOL.

Below is a live performance at Cafe Wha by one of my favourite guys - Amadou. Give the clip a little time for him to get started. He has an amazing voice. Not sure what the guy who's filming is up to though... he's all over with the camera. :) The guy next to Amadou is another favorite... his name is Bryan. The last time I was at Cafe Wha I was dragged up by one of the band members.. and had to dance with him in front of all the freakn people at the club. That was not embarrassing at all... NOPE! :)

A Day To Be Proud - Happy 4th of July!

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!!

I may have been born in another country (i.e. Sweden) but no other country feels like home the same way the US does. I officially became an American after taking the Oath of Allegiance but I became an American by heart several years before that.

I am proud to be an American every day of the year, but especially today!

Happy Independence Day!

Yeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss

We got VG on our master’s thesis (D-uppsatsen). :) Not sure how it is graded in other countries but in Sweden a VG is the highest score you can get. In English VG translates to “Passing with Distinction”. Folks, you do not understand how much work we have put down on this paper and it feels so got damn FABULOUS ... I cannot even express how great it feels! This will have to be celebrated. Tonight I will be dancing to “Lets Groove Tonight” and “Boogie Wonderland” by Earth, Wind and Fire. And the song I love so much, "Celebrate good times, come on" by Kool and the Gang. Hahahaha. I wish I could scream so you could hear me - I am so freakn’ happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Ulrika, my thesis partner – we did a remarkable job, we so ROCK dude!!!! LOL

Anyhow, today I have been out shopping for something to wear to the wedding we are going to tomorrow. It’s a friend of Mr. L who is getting married. I found a beige suit that will do just fine. In a couple of hours my little Baby Blue is going to the country with my parents. He cannot be alone for several hours when we are shaking our booties at the wedding, but we are keeping Alih though. He’s an old man who actually enjoys getting some nice and undisturbed sleep. :) On Monday Ulrika and I have to go to the University as we need to get our thesis printed and binded. The University needs 3 or 4 copies and I want to keep a copy for myself too. :) After that is all set and done, we will probably be heading to the country again.

Why don’t you folks dance with me tonight??!! Here’s Earth, Wind and Fire ... and Kool n' the Gang.... Enjoy! :)

The National Day of Sweden

Today, June 6, is Sweden's National Day. Unfortunately the celebrations are pretty lame. It's kind of sad 'cause I believe it is a day to be proud of! The whole country should be celebrating!!!!
We are going to the country, where we will be reunited with old man Alih. =) We have no specific plans other than that we will BBQ tonight. It seems to be yet another hot day... so I will probably take the doggies to some lake where they can cool off and enjoy themselves.
Here's the Swedish Anthem sung by Carola:

Ready for the Sex & the City Movie?

Most Sex & the City Fans have probably already seen the trailer, and if you live in the US you've probably already seen the movie. But in Sweden, we are still waiting and waiting. In case anyone has missed the trailer - here it is! =)

By the way, I love the India Arie song "Heart of the matter" which they play in the movie. I love Fergie too and her SATC theme song "Labels or Love"...
