Preview of tomorrow's Dog Show

Today, I got a preview of the Dog Show that's coming up tomorrow in Askersund. The show is a 2-day event ... and since some of my favourite breeds were shown today I thought it would be fun to go today as well, especially since the show is in our "neighborhood". I watched the Rottweilers, Dobermans and Mastiffs. Great fun!

Too bad the weather sucks! The whole sports field where the show is held, was wet and nasty. My feet were soaked when I came home. :( I would be wearing my rain boots tomorrow if it wasn't for that I don't have any... And why is that, one can wonder? Well, because my beloved wild child (a.k.a. James) completely demolished one not long ago. Then again, he only destroyed one which means I have one boot left. Maybe I should go with one rain boot on one foot and a running shoe on the other foot. lol. That would look so cool.... hahaha.

Anyhow - wish us Good Luck for the show tomorrow. James is entering the ring as #9, so he's one of the starters. Please, please - let the weather be ok...

Today's date is pretty cool huh?!

The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games was pretty cool too. I have to give both thumbs up to China - it was an extraordinary & amazing opening show.

Are you gonna spend the next 2 weeks in front of the TV like me? :)

I'm a sucker for saxophones

This is an "old" song I used to listen to a lot... you can hear the sax the whole time - ah, I love it!

It's Damian Marley (one of B. Marley's sons) featuring Bobby Brown. The name of the song is Beautiful.

Hey Anna -remember Tina Turner's "sax man"??? Hihihi...

More wise quotes

People - there are some lessons to be learnt in these quotes... read.. and give it some thought.

"Silence is one great art of conversation"
-anonymous
I enjoy being with people who can enjoy silence at times.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"
-Albert Einstein
How come some people don't learn from their mistakes? I keep getting shocked over and over again when it comes to some people. And not only shocked, but disappointed.

"Life is what you make it: if you snooze, you lose; and if you snore, you lose more"
-Phyllis George
You're in charge of your own life - it's only as good as you decide to make it.

"Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit"
-Napoleon Hill
So true!

"Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey"
-Babs Hoffman
Life is here and now...enjoy it while it lasts.

A Malcolm X quote -

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”

A visit to the vet's office

Took Jamie to the vet today to get his wound on the back checked and to speak to the vet about his eating issues. Last night he started having diarrhea and this morning he even vomited a few times. Poor Baby! But the good news is that the wound on the back looks good and in regards to his stomach,we need to "starve" him for 24 hours... and after that he needs to eat "easy digestable food" for a while. It was nothing to worry about as long as he doesn't have a fever, drinks water and has normal energy levels, which he does.

After his stomach is back to "normal" he should only eat his regular dog food and nothing else. It is most likely, we, who have created this I-don't-want-to-eat-monster. He's as skinny as can be but we have to be tough this time and not feed him anything but his regular food. And if he doesn't eat, put the food away within 10 min. Tough love but I have a feeling (like so many people have told me) it will work. We have been pampering him for too long and that's why he has become the way he is. :(

Private Lesson

Jay and I had our private lesson with Hundstyrkan today. It went great! Now we have lots of work to do... but it really got me motivated. So let's get it started... :)

Also, we are starting James on the BARF diet today (a complete raw food diet for dogs). Let's cross our fingers... but I am honestly starting to get worried about him. Nothing is good enough for him... what the heck is wrong with him?

By the way...

...we came back to the city last night after having been in the country for over a week. It's nice being in the country, but it felt really good being back home. I slept like a little baby last night... :)

Since we stayed in the country longer than planned I ended up changing Jay's private lesson with Hundstyrkan 'till tomorrow. The baby and I will need to be whipped back "in to shape". :)

Aaaaand my computer is about to give up... major problems. Let's see how this will end... new computer maybe?

I just heard...

...the weirdest bark from James. He was outside on the lawn/patio by himself and the bark was totally different compared to his normal bark. Obviously I went outside to check what was going on and found James in front of a hedgehog. Still, I could not figure out the weird bark since Jay usually does not care that much about them... well, that was until I saw the hedgehog on top of his pig ear. That's when I figured out Jay was seriously mad as heck over the freakn hedgehog trying to take his pig ear. When I grabbed him by his collar he launched towards the hedgehog... (he did not get the hedgehog though so he or she is fine). Let me tell you, my baby was MAD AS HELL...
