Here are pics from our WP/DW training last Tuesday. I have had to take a step back in training due to James jumping before he pulls. :) Yes, it sounds funny but not a good technique at all when pulling heavy as I'm sure you can understand (he jumps straight up in the air and immediately starts pulling). So now I work really close to him and if he starts with a jump I say no and we take it from the beginning.

Last night (Thursday) we had training again, and this time I brought the clicker which he responds really well to and I think it worked. We did several short pulls with the cart and I clicked every time he started the way he's suppose to. :) I think he got it. :)

ps. If you have ever searched for Weight Pull on youtube I'm sure you will have seen some really stupid people egging their dogs on in order to get them to pull cars and what not (the dogs are jumping and seem generally stressed out, not to mention the impact on their bodies). That's obviously not a good technique and not something our organization supports. A good technique is the key to all our training.


Här kommer lite bilder från tisdagsträningen vid WP klubben. Jag har faktiskt fått tagit ett steg tillbaks i James träning på grund av att han vill göra ett hopp innan han börjar dra. :) Det låter roligt men det är verkligen inte en bra teknik när han drar tungt (han hoppar alltså rakt upp i luften för att sedan börja dra). Så nu jobbar jag riktigt nära honom hela tiden och börjar han med ett hopp avbryter jag och vi tar det från början.

Igår kväll (torsdag) hade vi träning igen och den här gången tog jag faktiskt med klickern, något som fungerar väldigt bra på James. Vi gjorde flera riktigt korta start & stopp med vagnen och varje gång han började som han skulle klickade jag, började han istället med ett hopp började vi om från början. Jag tror klickern hjälpte honom förstå att hoppet bör slopas. ;)
